Sydney custom motorcycle workshop Deus Ex Machina has revealed its BMW R nineT build, which features a few very cool design elements.
The centrepiece of the project is the oversize fuel tank, inspired by the old Heinrich tanks which gave 1970s BMW longer range. The tank has a top section which hides the bike’s ignition.
Designer Carby Tuckwell said the tank’s roots also inspired the custom bike’s name, the Heinrich Maneuver.
The tank is hand-beaten alloy adorned with unique BMW badges that were sand-cast from the melted-down aluminium from components removed from the R nineT that Deus turned into the Heinrich Maneuver.
Another neat touch is the use of kangaroo leather for the one-off solo seat.
