With the giant Golden Guitar and a population over 40,000, Tamworth is hoping to welcome you to the Roaring Thunder Rally, October 1-4 as the city expands beyond being the Country Music Capital of Australia.
Also home to one of Australia’s premier bike collections at the Powerhouse Motorcycle Museum, Tamworth has mush to offer the visiting motorcyclist.
Located in t he North Western region of NSW, getting to Tamworth can be an easy ride on major highways or a short strop west from some of the great riding roads of the state along the great dividing range to the East – it’s on the Oxley Highway, famous for the winding road and fantastic views closer to the coast. For a great view over the city of Tamworth and Peel River Valley, you can’t go past Oxley Scenic Lookout, two-kilometres from the CBD.
There’s also no shortage of great dirt roads leading to Tamworth from every point of the compass.
National Thunder Rally
The inaugural annual National Thunder Motorcycle Rally will be held across the October Long weekend in 2021. The rally will offer four days of action and camaraderie and will be built around the theme of bikes, music and food. The rally will include all motorcycle manufacturers’ brands, catering for individual riders, club members and organised groups.
This national event is expected to draw several thousand bikes to Tamworth and will feature live music with local and national bands, specialised equine activities, dozens of vendors and much, much more.
It is our goal to collaborate with a diverse range of manufacturers and organisations that share a passion for motorcycling to create a unique event that celebrates the motorcycle lifestyle.
