Younger readers may not know Moto Guzzi was a very successful manufacturer of racing motorcycles, winning numerous Grand Prix titles and building one of the most amazing machines ever, a 500cc V8 four-stroke.
The legendary Alan Cathcart, featured on the cover of Moto Guzzi Factory Racers riding one of the rare V8s, tells the story of the company’s amazing race bikes in his new book.
“In marking the Centenary last year of the foundation of this legendary company now owned by Piaggio, Moto Guzzi Racers includes not only the complete technical evolution and racing history of the fabulous 500cc V8, but also all the bikes which preceded it, including Moto Guzzi’s World title-winning 250cc and 350cc singles, as well as its various 500cc singles, twins and four-cylinder contenders. It also includes my riding impressions of two of the most significant models in Guzzi’s racing history, the wide-angle 500cc 120° V-twin, and the iconic V8 which succeeded it.”
Published in both English and Italian, it’s a large format (30×23 cm) hardcover volume printed on quality paper, with 160 pages and 91 full page photos.
Moto Guzzi Factory Racers is only available via mail order at a price of €49 plus freight of €16.
