Four incredible artists from three unique disciplines will showcase a gallery of motorcycle inspired artwork at the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show presented by Shannons Insurance at the International Convention Centre (ICC) Darling Harbour from November 24-26.
Emerging Australian artist Kris Hartas will present a selection of motorcycle inspired soft hyperrealism works all drawn with unipin pens.
Seven original works will be on display, with some available to purchase during the show. The talented artist will also produce a special one off artwork of three-time Superbike World Champion Troy Bayliss which will be unveiled at the event and auctioned off for charity Beyond Blue.
With each artwork taking between 90 and 120 hours to produce, Hartas said drawing such a technical subject as a motorcycle takes time, attention and patience.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to be a part of the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show in Sydney,” Hartas said. “Coming off the back of my first solo exhibition in May I’m excited to see how my motorcycle works will be received.
“I’ve always found motorcycles cool but coming from a design background I was always more interested in how they look and how everything fits together. Drawing such a technical subject takes time and above all, a lot of patience.
“Beyond Blue is a great charity that helps people suffering from depression and anxiety. I am pleased to be creating this special artwork with Troy that will raise funds and awareness for a fantastic cause,” Hartas continued.
Event Organiser Troy Bayliss confirmed the art showcase is a new initiative for the 2017 event and said he was excited to see the diverse range of artwork the four artists will bring to the exhibition.
“Kris’s artwork is unique and the pieces he creates are certainly worthy of an exhibition to the 25,000 visitors expected to visit the Sydney Motorcycle Show this year,” Bayliss said.
“In addition to the items on display and those offered for sale I am particularly excited about the piece Kris is creating to be auctioned for Beyond Blue.”
Over the coming weeks, three more artists will be announced and details of the auction will be confirmed including options for interstate and international people to bid on the custom artwork.
Showcasing the latest motorcycles, scooters, ATV’S, side-by-sides and much more the 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show will give visitors the opportunity to engage with industry experts, test ride a range of both adults and children’s motorcycles as well as be entertained by a full program of demonstrations, stunts, and special features.
The 2017 Sydney Motorcycle Show presented by Shannons Insurance is managed by Troy Bayliss Events on behalf of the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries.
