NZ-BUILT ELECTRIC FTN MOTION HERE SOON

The FTN Motion Streetdog, an NZ-built electric motorcycle, will launch in Australia in March.

An innovative NZ-built electric motorcycle called the FTN Motion Streetdog will launch in Australia in March 2025. The base-spec Streetdog50 will be priced from $11,260 ride away and the Streetdog80 will start at $12,950 ride away.

FTN Motion claims to have sold more than 200 electric motorcycles in New Zealand and is now taking pre-orders in Australia ahead of the official launch in March of both the Streetdog50 and Streetdog80.

In 2021, FTN Motion sold out its first production run of 100 Streetdog50 models, and earlier this year it sold out the initial production run of 50 units of its latest model, the Streetdog80, ahead of its official release later this month.

Building on this success, FTN Motion is now entering the Australian market with a first production run of 50 bikes. According to FTN Motion, more than 40 units have already been reserved ahead of their official launch in Australia in March, underscoring the strong demand for the brand’s innovative electric motorbikes.

The Streetdog80 boasts a top speed of 80km/h and a claimed range of up to 140km when equipped with a second battery, with prices starting from $12,950, including on-road costs. In comparison, the Streetdog50 reaches speeds of up to 50km/h and offers a range of up to 180km, with prices starting from $11,260, including on-road costs. Both models have garnered international praise for their stylish design and practicality as urban commuting solutions.

FTN Motion founder Kendall Bristow says the launch in Australia will mark the first time the public can test ride both Streetdog models in Sydney and Melbourne.

“It’s fantastic to see such strong interest from Australian customers,” said Bristow. “With traffic congestion and parking becoming increasingly problematic, more people are looking for fast, fun, and environmentally friendly ways to get around. It’s exciting to see how many are embracing the Streetdog as a solution for urban travel.”

Australian customers who reserve a spot in FTN Motion’s first production run for Australia will be invited to test ride and configure their Streetdog before production begins in April 2025.

FTN Motion will be at the Everything Electric Expo in Sydney from 7-9 March and will host test rides in Sydney on 11-12 March and in Melbourne on 14-15 March.
