With the success of other bobber-style machines – especially the Triumph Bobber – it’s no surprise Harley-Davidson has responded with the new Softail Standard, a single-seat cruiser with laced wheels, shorty guards and a bunch of optional accessories to customise yours to your personal taste.
It’s priced really well at $21,495 AUD / $22,750 NZD.
In standard trim Harley-Davidson describe the bike as “a lean bobber profile steeped in attitude”. What we see is a black, sorry blank canvas, a bike ready to be customised… and so does Harley, the company has even put together four optional accessory packages – Day Tripper (pillion seat, sissy bar, rear pegs, swingarm luggage bag), Coast Custom (quarter fairing, moto ’bars & risers, bevel two-up seat and BMX-style pegs), Touring (Sundowner two-up seat, 14-inch screen, saddlebags, sissybar and backrest) and the Performance Custom (Sreamin’ Eagle stage II torque kit, pro street tuner, performance air cleaner and Cannon mufflers).
The bike features laced wheels, 19-inch front and 16-inch rear. There’s a 13.2 litre tank and you can have one in any colour you like, as long as it’s black.
