The World On Wheels tour company, in collaboration with the Fred Hollows Foundation, are launching a ride for charity in January 2017
The event is a national ride to raise funds for the work of the foundation, here in Australia and globally.
“As motorcyclists we can take our eyesight for granted, but we would not be able to enjoy our riding, or the world in which we ride, without our precious sight,” says Denise Ferris, global adventurer & co-owner at World On Wheels. “For as little as A$25, a 10 minute sight restoring operation can occur – life changing for millions of people around the world. Why wouldn’t we help?!”
The ride will occur over the Australia Day long weekend and invites individuals, families and groups to participate, starting from their homes and riding to the rural NSW town of Bourke. There attendees will arrive at a Foundation eye care clinic and the final resting place of Fred Hollows himself.
The team of organisers hope to have at least 100 bikes and riders take part in helping them raise their $50,000 goal.
