For the first time the Ducati Streetfighter V4 gets full Panigale power, setting the benchmark in the hypernaked segment with a claimed power-to-weight ratio of 1.13hp/kg.
The new Ducati Streetfighter V4 is now essentially a Panigale V4 stripped of its fairings, but with a higher and wider handlebar.
Ducati says the Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine is closely derived from that of Ducati MotoGP bikes. It is a 90° V4 with desmodromic distribution, counter-rotating crankshaft and twin-pulse timing, which gives the Streetfighter V4 a sound similar to that of the Desmosedici GP.
The Euro 5+ compliant engine makes a claimed 160kW (214hp) of power at 13,500rpm and 120Nm of torque at 11,250rpm, with an increase to 169kW (226hp) with the fitment of a track-only Akrapovic racing exhaust.
There are several styling tweaks that distinguish the 2025 model from the 2024 model, with the new Streetfighter V4 receiving more effective forward-slanting biplane wings that are claimed to provide more than 17kg of downforce at 270km/h.
Compared to the previous Streetfighter V4, the bend of the handlebar has been moved back 10mm closer to the rider, and the footpegs are lower, further forward and positioned 10mm further inward, which is claimed to increase comfort for the rider without compromising ground clearance.
A new chassis is lighter than before and has reduced lateral stiffness that is said “to offer greater confidence when leaning and greater effectiveness in taking the apex and maintaining the trajectory”.
The new double-sided ‘Ducati Hollow Symmetrical Swingarm’ is claimed to improve traction when exiting corners and the rider’s feeling in acceleration, with a reduction in lateral stiffness (-43% compared to the single-sided swingarm of the previous model).
The Streetfighter V4 S is equipped with third-generation electronically controlled Öhlins NIX/TTX suspension, with a revised rear link compared to the Panigale V4 for better on-road compliance. Like the Panigale V4, however, the Streetfighter V4 gets top-shelf Brembo Hypure calipers.
Of course, there’s a full suite of electronic controls: Ducati Traction Control DVO, Ducati Slide Control, Ducati Wheelie Control DVO, Ducati Power Launch DVO, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0. A new 6.9-inch display offers selectable graphics for road and track use.
The new Streetfighter V4 and V4 S versions will arrive in dealerships in March 2025. The V4 will set you back $38,400 ride away and the V4 S will be $43,100 ride away. Both will be offered in single-seat configuration, with passenger kit available as an accessory.
