Bear Sorry to hear about Davo. I enjoyed the story of the Transcontinental ride on the big Kawasaki. I was wondering if you can do a special on a Europe holiday for 2 by bike. I mean more the preparation for such a journey. Go through all the preparations, the bike,insurance health and bike, visas, etc. What to take by way of clothes, equipment, notebook computer? OK I'll come clean it's a plan of mine to do this trip and I would like some advice. We want to take a R1150rt, ship it with get routed and tour europe for 100 days 23 countries Brian

Women riders? We just crossed Canada east-to-west. The major surprise was how many women were riding motorcycles; and not small bikes, either. Any group of bikers comprised up to 40% female. Never encountered this in any other country we visited during our six months' abroad. Still getting over it!

Women riders. It's fantastic to hear women are taking up this great way of travelling. The articles in the months ARR are very postive toward encouraging more women on to bikes. But if we want to target more shouldn't the articles be publushed more widely in other magazines women read??

Paul, when we rode the N-W USA, I was similarly struck by the number of female riders. One in particular stuck in my mind: she was a lady in her late 40s, touring with her daughter and son-in-law. Daughter and S-I-L were both astride VFRs, while she had her own VTR1000 which, to me on an 1150RT, looked damned uncomfortable for long distance riding!

Just received the latest RR. I am sure it will be great. Have a Nomad but could read a book about Harley's i suppose.
